Metal Yield Damper (MYD), as an energy dissipation product that uses metal plastic deformation to dissipate energy, is widely used because of its excellent energy consumption performance, stable mechanical properties, convenient processing, low cost, and convenient maintenance and replacement in building structure system. At present, the common metal yield type dampers mainly use the bending deformation of the metal (that is Curved Metal Yield Damper, MYD_M) or the shear deformation (that is Shear Metal Yield Damper, MYD_V) to dissipate energy. Axial Metal Yield Damper (MYD-A for short) use the axial compression and plastic deformation of metal materials to dissipate seismic energy. Commonly used metal materials are low-yield-strength steel and low-carbon steel.
